Single Page View for Google Docs
KNF Publications, Inc., also trading as Cherry Task
Effective date: 20 August 2026 · Last updated: 21 August 2026
This policy explains what we do — and mostly do not do — with information when you use our Chrome extension, visit our website, or choose to make a donation.
KNF Publications, Inc. is a Maryland corporation. We also trade under the name Cherry Task, so a donation may appear on your card or bank statement as Cherry Task rather than KNF Publications. Both names mean the same company, and that company is the data controller responsible for this policy.
KNF Publications, Inc.You can reach us any time at support@knfpub-inc.com. A real person reads it.
We call the second and third of those, together, the “Site.”
The Extension is free. We do not sell the Extension, a subscription, or any other product or service. Payments on the Site are entirely optional donations that support continued development, and you get the same Extension whether you donate or not.
Using the Extension does not require an account, an email address, or a payment. We do not run a server that receives anything from it. When our website says “No data collection,” that is about the Extension — a donation is a separate, optional act, and it is described in section 3.
In particular, the Extension:
The Extension only runs on Google Docs document pages
(https://docs.google.com/document*). It does not run on Gmail, Drive, or any other
website. It does not request Chrome’s broad tabs permission — the only website
permission it asks for is the one covering Google Docs documents.
The Extension saves four small preferences using Chrome’s extension storage:
| Setting | What it remembers |
|---|---|
singlePageViewEnabled |
whether single page view is turned on |
shortcutBindings |
the keyboard shortcuts you have chosen |
restoreZoomOnDisable |
whether to restore your zoom level when you turn the view off |
focusGoToPage |
a temporary note of which field to focus, kept only for the current browser session |
We deliberately do not use Chrome’s “sync” storage. Sync storage would copy your settings to Google’s servers and push them to your other computers. We use local and session storage instead, so your settings stay in your browser profile on the machine where you set them.
We cannot read any of it. The Extension contains no networking code whatsoever — no requests, no analytics calls, no remote scripts. Uninstalling the Extension deletes all of it.
Chrome, Google Docs, and the Chrome Web Store are Google’s products. What Google does with your data is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy, not by this one.
You can read every page on www.knfpub-inc.com without giving us anything. We run no advertising, no analytics, and no visitor tracking of any kind, and nothing we run directly loads unless you click something that asks for it.
Four service providers help deliver the site, and they see what any web server sees:
To send you a page, these providers necessarily receive technical information including your IP address, browser type, and the address of the page you asked for. We do not use Brizy or Bunny Fonts for analytics or advertising, and we do not receive visitor reports from them.
If you choose to donate, the checkout is hosted by ThriveCart. We never handle or store your card details ourselves.
Only your email address — so we can send a receipt and reach you about a refund or a problem — and your payment details, which go to the payment provider rather than to us. Our own form does not ask for your name, postal address, or phone number, and we never collect them. Stripe’s own card step separately offers to ask for a phone number, on by default and easy to skip — see below.
ThriveCart runs the checkout. The company that actually moves the money depends on the method you pick:
Those companies receive the details needed to complete your donation and handle it under their own privacy policies. We never receive your full card number. What comes back to us from ThriveCart is your email address, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded.
After your donation goes through, the checkout expands to show a “Save my information for faster checkout” section — checked by default — asking for your email and phone number to set up a Stripe Link wallet you can reuse at other Link merchants. This appears only once your payment has already completed, so it has no effect on your donation either way. None of it reaches us: we never receive your phone number, and it plays no part in completing your donation. Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy govern the Link account, if you create one, and that relationship continues after your donation is finished.
ThriveCart uses its own suppliers to run its service, and publishes the current list in section 7.2 of its Data Processing Addendum. We link to it rather than copying it, because ThriveCart updates it from time to time.
The checkout uses hCaptcha, operated by Intuition Machines, Inc., to tell people apart from automated bots. hCaptcha examines technical signals such as your IP address, how long you have been on the page, and your mouse movements, and it sets its own cookies. This protects the checkout from fraud and abuse. See hCaptcha’s privacy policy.
Two places on the Site let you opt in, and both use the same checkbox or button: “Yes, please notify me of new features, updates, and other opportunities. (Occasional email. No spam.)” One is on the donation checkout, unticked by default. The other is our “Subscribe” button, which opens a small window on our page showing a sign-up form hosted by Moosend. Either way — ticking the checkbox at checkout, or entering your email in the Subscribe form and submitting it — adds your email address to our list with Moosend, and we may occasionally write to you about the Extension. If you leave the checkbox unticked, or never submit the Subscribe form, no email address is added.
You can leave at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by writing to support@knfpub-inc.com. Withdrawing your consent is as easy as giving it, and it does not affect anything we lawfully did with your email address before you withdrew.
The Extension does not use cookies.
We set no cookies of our own. Nothing we run directly on www.knfpub-inc.com stores a cookie on your device. Two providers set their own, described below, only after you click something asking for what they provide, and neither is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Clicking Subscribe loads Moosend’s form. Nothing from Moosend loads when you visit the Site. Clicking our “Subscribe” button opens a small window, on our page, that loads a sign-up form Moosend hosts. That load sends Moosend the same kind of technical information any web request sends, and may set cookies of its own — for instance to remember that you already submitted the form. If you never click Subscribe, none of that happens. See Moosend’s privacy policy.
Clicking the donate button sets one. Our home page carries a “buy me a coffee”
button. Clicking it opens the checkout in a popup, provided by ThriveCart, and that action sets a
session cookie called thrivecart_v2 — one on .thrivecart.com and one on
.cart.knfpub-inc.com. ThriveCart uses it to keep that checkout session working so
your details survive the steps of the form. If you never click the button, this cookie is never
set.
That cookie holds no profile of you. It is not used for advertising, analytics, or tracking you across other websites, and it expires when your browser session ends. ThriveCart also shows visitors in the European Union its own cookie notice inside the checkout. If you go on to use the checkout, hCaptcha may set cookies of its own for the fraud checks described in section 3.
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for what a website must do when it receives one. We do not track you across other websites, so there is nothing for us to switch off there, and we do not respond to those signals differently.
We also do not allow third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your activity across different websites through our Site.
Stated plainly, and regardless of where you live:
If UK or EU data protection law applies to you, our lawful bases are:
We do not make automated decisions about you that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects.
We do not sell personal information, and we never have. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have no advertising relationships of any kind.
Information about a donation is shared only with:
There is nothing to share about your use of the Extension, because the Extension never sends us anything.
Your Extension settings stay on your device until you change them or uninstall the Extension. We keep donation records for as long as we need them for receipts, refunds, tax, and bookkeeping, and then delete them or strip them of anything identifying. If you asked for updates, we keep your email address on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. ThriveCart, Moosend, and the payment providers keep their own records under their own policies.
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask for a copy, or object to what we are doing with it. Write to support@knfpub-inc.com from the address you used, and we may need to check it is really you before we act.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, and you may do so in the country where you live, where you work, or where you think something went wrong.
We are a very small company, and the California Consumer Privacy Act does not currently apply to us — we meet none of the thresholds that would make it apply. We honor the substance of it anyway: you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, and receive a copy. We do not sell or share personal information as that law defines those words, so there is no opt-out for you to exercise. We will never treat you differently for asking.
The Extension and the Site are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, or under 13 in countries that have set that lower age under the GDPR. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or in other countries where they or their suppliers operate.
Where information is transferred out of the UK or the EEA, the transfer is covered by the safeguards those providers have put in place. ThriveCart’s Data Processing Addendum, for example, commits it to using Standard Contractual Clauses approved under Article 46 of the GDPR, or an equivalent lawful transfer mechanism.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and post the new version at this address. The version published here is always the current one.
Required by Google for extensions published on the Chrome Web Store:
storage permission — to save your own
preferences on your own device, as listed in section 1.

KNF Publications, Inc.The short version: the Extension is free and collects nothing. We set no cookies directly. Clicking our ThriveCart donate button or our Moosend Subscribe button each load a small window of their own and may set cookies, as described above — nothing loads until you click. If you donate, we learn your email address and the amount; if you subscribe, we learn only the email you give us — either way, you only hear from us again if you asked to.
This policy describes how we actually operate. It is written to be read, not to be impressive, and it is not legal advice. See also our Terms of Use.
